Why do i try to impress females when im gay?

the other day i went to a family friends store and she has these young girls working there, and idk why but i always try to impress them? like i try to act cool or whatever, not really even that, i just try to come off as someone cool or cute or whatever. BUT im gay. i dont understand why i do that? i just do. i guess subconsciously its me tryna be like (in a falsetto) "oh you like this? like what youre seeing? well you cant have it!" idk, and then me n my mom found out that one of the girls likes my bro, who is a year younger than me, and so i guess i try to make an impression for reasons of competition with my bro? idk someone help?
